Bio

I was born in Germany and grew up in Colorado. Like many immigrant kids, I learned my English from primetime TV and the Saturday morning cartoons. My parents spoke to me in German, and -- to their dismay -- I started answering in English before the boxes were even unpacked.
I have an A.B. in Classics from Harvard, a J.D. from Harvard Law School and an M.A. from Berkeley in Comparative Literature (with a focus on Latin and ancient/modern Greek).
My fiction has recently appeared or is forthcoming in The Southern Review, The Beloit Fiction Journal, Bellingham Review, The Fiddlehead, Rosebud, Short Story, South Dakota Review, Weber: The Contemporary West, The Oklahoma Review, and others. I have just finished my first novel and am working on my second.
